YES! Organic Market in Petworth Pics

Prince of Petworth posted some pictures of the new YES! Organic Market in my new neighborhood. My plan is to stop by this weekend to see what they have to offer. So far, I've only ventured out to Sweet Mango Cafe (awesome Jerk Chicken) and to Fish in the Hood (aka Bill's Seafood Kitchen). Fish in the Hood carries fresh fish and will fry or broil them for you. I tried their fried clams last night and they did not disappoint. Tomorrow, I want to try the crab stuffed salmon. Once the unpacking is done and I've gotten to know my kitchen, the serious cooking will begin. For now, my new neighborhood eateries are making me very happy.

Wednesday, September 2, 2009 - Sale at Safeway

So, I've moved into my new home in Petworth and now have internet access. Its all coming together. Moving day was a cinch besides the two and a half hour wait at U-Haul (please advise that the last Sunday of August is not a good day to rent a truck from U-Haul.) The highlight of the day was seeing all my friends show up at my door with gusto and move my stuff as if they were bags full of feathers. You can always tell who your good friends are if they offer to help you move. Unfortunately, I had offered to cook them pork ribs and buy them beer if they helped me move so I actually don't know if they showed up for me or for beer and ribs.

Thrifty DC Cook Has Moved...

to a new house in DC. My wireless internet connection has not been set up yet so I haven't been able to write any posts (outside of work.) Hopefully I will have this resolved soon.
